Brian and I are in the middle redecorating the living room. What started out as a new sofa has turned into a full on makeover. Even though Iโ€™m all about instant gratification โ€“ weโ€™re taking the process slow and purchasing items that weโ€™ll love for years to come.

My style has definitely changed since I originally put the room together 5 years ago. Iโ€™ve transitioned from an ultra sleek, modern tone to one with a bit more rustic feel. Iโ€™m all about textures, grays, mustards and reclaimed wood that have a homey yet chic appeal. Youโ€™ll notice from my list that I am kind of obsessed with West Elm and Pottery Barn โ€“ Iโ€™m thinking Iโ€™ll soon be on a first name basis with the folks at my local PB.

As weโ€™re putting the room together piece by piece, I thought Iโ€™d share a few of my favorite things that weโ€™ve purchased along the way.

1. I wanted a new throw for the new sofa and snagged this Cozy Throw from West Elm with a 20% code. Itโ€™s soft, quite durable and the dogs and I are absolutely smitten with the snuggle factor.

2. From the moment Brian and I walked into Pottery Barn, we knew this Industrial Tool Chest would make itโ€™s way into our home. Weโ€™re just smitten with its aged appearance and ample storage space. Itโ€™s great for hiding away movies, video games and the extra remote controls that used to clutter up our media cart.

3. Iโ€™m all about Mercury Glass right now and these little votive cups were the perfect accent for our new coffee table. They have a beautiful antiqued finish that looks stunning with lit tea light inside.

4. Iโ€™m a sucker for throw pillows and ever since I found Nena Von on Etsy, sheโ€™s made my love for them all that much stronger. After tossing around several pattern ideas, we finally decided on this pattern for the couch pillows. Weโ€™ve paired it with this gorgeous flocked print for a striking combination.

Next up on the list is some artwork and a piece for the entryway! And Iโ€™m already contemplating a new dining room table!

Note: This is not a sponsored post, weโ€™ve purchased and love everything you see within this post. Iโ€™m simply sharing a few of my favorite things! All photos from sites linked above.

Iโ€™ve been eyeing that WE throw, so itโ€™s good to know itโ€™s holding up to you and the dogs :) My dog thinks all the blankets & throws in the house are hersโ€ฆ I love that tool chest too. We could do some serious damage if we went shopping together!!!

I am dying for one of those chunky throws. Iโ€™ve had my eye on the cream one for a while. I love blankets and that looks like the comfiest one Iโ€™ve seen yet. Perfect to cozy up by the fire with a book and mug of cocoa.

That throw/blanket would be so cozy to snuggle up with! Iโ€™m a huge fan of snuggling under blankets as are my girls.

I want to move in with you. No really. At least until James lets me start looking at new living room furniture. ;)

beautiful selection here. I love doing makeovers especially when you are really taking your time to choose correctly. We just did this in our new apartment and I couldnโ€™t be more happy with how it looks since we didnโ€™t rush to get pieces in there just to fill the space. great post!

LOVE the mercury glasses! These are all great Christmas gift suggestions, and perfect timing, since Iโ€™m doing most of my shopping this week! :)

I just want to grab one of those blankets and go curl up by the fireplace. Looks so cozy. I also love the trend toward the gray tones, unfortunately in a place with such little light I think the gray would depress me after a while. Maybe not if I jazzed it up with some mustard yellow like you suggest.
